Leeds Skyline provides support services for anyone living with or affected by HIV in Leeds. Their team of experienced Support Workers develop support plans tailored to the individual’s needs.

HIV Support Service

If you know of anyone who needs support themselves or are concerned about someone else, please get in touch on the numbers below. We are happy to speak to anyone who may need advice.

All staff are now back in the office and we are open 5 days a week. Contact details for our Support Workers are below:

  • Andi Walker – Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-5pm. Tuesdays, 11.30-7.30pm – 07787 297 540.
  • Hilda Achola – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 9-5pm - 07717 713 078.
  • General support phone – 07770 549 554 – This number is manned 9-5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Office number – (0113) 244 9767. The answerphone for this number is checked daily.

Telephone support and video calling are available for all 1-2-1’s, and although all support groups are now face to face, everyone has the option to join virtually if they prefer.

Other service provision

Support Service:

  • CBT therapy with Angela Lavery. Referrals being done via Support Workers and will be carried out by phone or video call.
  • Debt advice with Mike Shaw – contactable via the Support Team.
  • Peer Mentors – our Peer Mentor service is for anyone who would like to speak to another person living with HIV. Referrals in via Becky Pang, our Service User Engagement Lead, who can be contacted Monday to Friday on the support phone number. Mentors would provide telephone or video phone sessions.

How Skyline can help:

  • Skyline offers one-to-one emotional support, cognitive behavioural therapy, information and advice on a number of issues (including treatment, benefits, housing and finances), structured and peer support groups, training and workshops, mental health support and complementary therapies.
  • The service provides a non-judgmental, confidential and welcoming space in an easily accessible city centre venue. Facilities are also available for service users to meet together and link into wider networks.

One-to-one support

Peer mentor service - we aim to provide all people living with HIV access to peer support.


Emotional support, advice and information on a number of issues including:

  • Emotional needs.
  • HIV treatment information and management.
  • Immigration, housing, welfare benefits and hardship grants.
  • Developing coping strategies.
  • Emotional and practical help to support you and your family.
  • Issues relating to pregnancy, childbirth and children.
Group sessions

Leeds Skyline currently provides a number of support groups and drop-in sessions for individuals, families, children and young people living with or affected by HIV. People with similar experiences can come together to share their thoughts and feelings. The groups provide individuals with the opportunity to talk through issues and develop coping strategies.

PACT (Positive And Confident Together) - Weekly,Tuesdays 6-8pm. This group is a safe space for self-identifying men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV to discuss any issues they may have & receive peer support & information. For more information contact Andi.

Together4Life - This group is for young people living with, or affected by HIV who are 12-18 years old. For more information please call Alison at Skyline or Maria Dowie (Children's Nurse Specialist): 07789 868569.

LGBTQI Welcome Cafe - This new group is open to all LGBTQI people in Leeds on Wednesdays 12-3pm. This is part of Live Well Leeds and is an open session to all LGBTQI people in Leeds who identify as having mild to moderate mental health needs. Complementary therapies

Skyline offers a range of complementary therapies, including massage, reflexology and reiki. These therapies have many benefits including relief from stress, pain and side effects, relaxation and general well being.

Training and workshops

Skyline provides a number of opportunities to learn new skills and develop learning including positive self management, HIV treatments information, confidence and self esteem building, relationships and disclosure and many more. They also provide training and information sessions for professionals and groups, as well as running a positive speakers’ programme.
